6.1 Addresses for obtaining copies of referenced documents.

6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this CID.
b. If required, the specific issue of individual documents referenced.
c. Material, if other than as specified or if to be specified by the contractor (see 2.1)
d. Treatment and painting, if other than as specified (see 2.2.1.1).
e. PIN and quantity of guards required (see 2.3).
f. Selection of applicable level and packaging requirements (see 5.1).
6.3 Cross-reference data. Guards conforming to this CID are interchangeable/substitutable with guards conforming to MIL-G-52346C.
6.4 Thickness of guard. Thickness of the guard was increased to 1.6 mm (0.063 in.) from 1.524 mm (0.060 in.) to conform to metric size standards.
6.5 Part identification number (PIN). The following PIN procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. This example describes a part numbering system for the commercial item description A-A-52559. The PIN used for the 100 mm (nom.) or 4-inch (nom.) using this CID is generated as follows:
AA52559-1; where -1 indicates a 4-inch or 100 mm nominal road crossing guard.
